About Dr. Debbie Bernstein

Debbie Bernstein MD offers her patients a unique blend of specialties, combining traditional medical training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a Board in Integrative/Holistic Medicine, an Institute for Functional Medicine Certification, and a Masters in Bio-Nutrition.

She graduated from Douglass College, Rutgers University with a BA in Human Communication and Minor in Psychology. She worked in sales after graduation. She then studied at University of Bridgeport for her Masters in Bio-Nutrition and took graduate courses in Psychology and Exercise Physiology.

After graduating from medical school at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, she completed a general medicine internship and specialized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

She continues to take many additional courses, most of which are oriented towards nutrition, functional medicine, and integrative/holistic medicine. She is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and recently boarded in Integrative Medicine. In addition, she continues to be a Diplomat in Integrative Holistic Medicine. She is also among the first group of practitioners to become an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner.

She is committed to enhancing the quality of life of her patients. Her specialties lend themselves perfectly to creating a team approach in supporting patients to reach their health and wellness goals. She is very grateful to be part of and work with such a wonderful team that is committed to each other and the service of the patients!

Dr. Debbie Bernstein is happily married and the mother of two adult children and one toy poodle. She enjoys the outdoors, composing and playing the piano, gardening, traveling, continually learning and walking in nature with friends.

She does her best to walk the talk by taking time each morning for various forms of meditation, writing in her gratefulness journal, having a green drink and walking with her husband or with a friend. She enjoys various forms of other exercise, including interval training, rebounding and weight training.
